FAQ: How to Extend the Life of Your Solid Shampoo Bars.
One question we receive a lot is people asking how they can extend the life of their solid products. Bar shampoos and conditioners are a fantastic zero-waste alternative for beauty enthusiasts looking to lower their packaging footprints, so it’s natural that fans want to make the most of their bars. And thinking about this question sparked one of our most recent and exciting product developments: The Pebble.
We wanted to provide a container for our bars that would both protect them in-shower, but also be great for travel. With the designers at Paperlux Studio, we spent a year researching form, as well as finding the greenest production and material possible. And in the end we are thrilled with the result: a container that’s not only practical, but is sourced from bamboo fibre and is 100% compostable.
The Pebble will last up five to seven years with regular in-shower use, yet won’t contribute to landfill waste once it’s reached the end of its life cycle. Simply toss it in your compost as you would with food scraps and watch it transform into nutrient-rich soil.
And as for caring for the bars themselves? Our highly concentrated shampoo bars and conditioner are just waiting for you to add water. However to ensure that they last, they should be kept dry when not in use. To use, simply place your dry bar on the bottom tray and screw on the lid. The bottom tray is specially designed to drain water, so your bar is protected from soaking. But please note that you must tip out the water occasionally if it collects at the bottom of the container. And you can keep your Pebble looking fresh and beautiful by washing it once a month with soap & warm water.
